Question 1

My pool has no light niche — can I still install this?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is the whole point of a nicheless light. The WaterColors JLU4C24W150 screws directly into any standard 1.5-inch pool return fitting. No niche, no concrete work, no draining the pool. If you have a return fitting, you can have a light.

Question 2

What colors does it produce and how do I change them?

Accepted Answer

The light is RGBW — red, green, blue, white, and mixed color combinations. Color changes are made by cycling power: turn the light off for 4–6 seconds and back on to step through the color sequence. To sync multiple lights to Alpine White, use the same power-cycle method. With a compatible Jandy automation system, you can control colors through the app.

Question 3

Why does a pool light need a 150-foot cord?

Accepted Answer

Electrical code requires the junction box to be at least 10 feet from the water's edge. A 150-foot cord gives you the flexibility to route it safely to a junction box or transformer regardless of your pool's layout — especially useful for larger pools or unusual equipment locations.

Question 4

What transformer do I need?

Accepted Answer

The JLU4C24W150 runs on 12V AC and draws 24 watts. You need a low-voltage transformer rated for at least 24W. If you are replacing an existing 12V pool light, your current transformer is almost certainly compatible — just verify the wattage capacity.

Question 5

Can I sync this with other Jandy lights for a color show?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Multiple Jandy WaterColors lights can be synchronized for color shows. When connected to a compatible Jandy automation system, color and show selection is managed through the automation interface for all lights simultaneously.
