Question 1

Will this fit my existing spa niche?

Accepted Answer

The WSLV100WS100 is ETL classified to fit Jandy ProNiches and existing small spa niches from major manufacturers including Pentair and Hayward. If your spa has a standard small niche, this is a direct replacement in most cases. Verify your niche diameter if you are unsure.

Question 2

Is this LED or incandescent — and does it matter?

Accepted Answer

This is incandescent — 100W, warm white at 2700K. It produces the classic soft glow that many spa owners prefer over the cooler, harsher light of some LED fixtures. The trade-off is higher energy use and a shorter bulb life compared to LED. If you want color-changing capability, the Jandy WaterColors LED nicheless light (JLU4C24W150) is the LED alternative.

Question 3

What transformer do I need?

Accepted Answer

The WSLV100WS100 runs on 12V AC and draws 100 watts. You need a low-voltage transformer rated for at least 100W. If you are replacing an existing 12V spa light, your current transformer is likely compatible — just verify the wattage capacity.

Question 4

Why does a spa light need a 100-foot cord?

Accepted Answer

Electrical code requires the junction box to be at least 10 feet from the water's edge. A 100-foot cord gives you plenty of reach to route safely to the junction box regardless of your spa's layout.

Question 5
