Question 1

What is the difference between the IntelliFloXF and the standard IntelliFlo VSF?

Accepted Answer

The IntelliFloXF (022056) is Pentair's extra-flow model — it is physically larger and engineered to move significantly more water than the standard IntelliFlo VSF (011056). It is designed for large residential pools with high-flow features like waterfalls, raised spas, and multiple return lines, or for commercial applications where the standard IntelliFlo VSF cannot keep up with demand. If your pool is under 30,000 gallons with no high-flow features, the standard IntelliFlo VSF is likely sufficient. If you have a large pool or high-demand hydraulics, the XF is the right choice.

Question 2

What does 'renewed' mean — what was actually done to this pump?

Accepted Answer

We replaced the bearings with new ones, installed premium shaft seals rated for ozone, salt, and chlorine environments, and bench-tested the unit before shipping. The motor windings and housing are original Pentair components in excellent condition. This is a mechanical renewal — not a cosmetic clean-up.

Question 3

Will this pump work with my automation system?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The IntelliFloXF VSF 022056 uses RS-485 communication and is compatible with Pentair EasyTouch, IntelliTouch, IntelliCenter, ScreenLogic2, Jandy iAqualink, and Hayward OmniLogic automation systems. You will need an RS-485 communication cable to connect it to your automation controller.

Question 4

Is the 1-year warranty from Pentair or from AquaForce?

Accepted Answer

It is an AquaForce warranty — not a Pentair manufacturer warranty. The 1-year coverage applies to the bearings and shaft seals we installed during the renewal process. If either fails within 1 year under normal pool operation, contact us and we will make it right.

Question 5

What plumbing size does this pump use?

Accepted Answer

The IntelliFloXF VSF 022056 includes both 2.5" and 3" union connectors, giving you flexibility to match your existing plumbing. Most large residential pools use 2.5" or 3" plumbing — both are covered with the included hardware. For pools with 2" piping, 2" adapter reducers will ship with the unit so you can connect without additional hardware.

Question 6

What does "Renewed" mean?

Accepted Answer

Renewed means the pump was fully disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt before it ships to you. Worn bearings, shaft seals, and gaskets are replaced with new parts — not cleaned and reused. The drive board and motor electronics are tested on professional diagnostic equipment to confirm correct operation. The rebuilt pump then runs on the bench until it meets factory performance specs. It is not a quick wipe-down and relist — every unit goes through the same process.
