Question 1

What exactly was done to this pump — what does 'renewed' mean?

Accepted Answer

We disassembled the pump, replaced the bearings and shaft seals with new premium components, reassembled it, and ran it under load before shipping. The motor windings, housing, impeller, and diffuser are all original Pentair parts in excellent condition. 'Renewed' means it performs like new — it is not a cosmetic refurb.

Question 2

Will this pump work with my Pentair EasyTouch or IntelliCenter system?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The IntelliFlo3 VSF uses RS-485 communication and is fully compatible with Pentair EasyTouch, IntelliTouch, IntelliCenter, and ScreenLogic2. It also works with Jandy and Hayward automation systems. If you have an existing automation system, you will need an RS-485 communication cable — contact us and we can help you identify the right one for your setup.

Question 3

Do I need an automation system, or can I just use the app?

Accepted Answer

No automation system required. The IntelliFlo3 VSF has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth — connect it directly to the free Pentair Home app on your phone and control speed, schedules, and flow from anywhere. No additional hardware needed.

Question 4

What is the difference between the 011075 and the 011076 — is the 011075 discontinued?

Accepted Answer

They are the same pump. The 011076 is simply the 011075 with the optional sub board (356365Z) pre-installed at the factory. If you do not need that board — and most installations do not — the 011075 is the smarter buy. You get identical performance at a lower price, and you can always add the board later if your setup ever requires it.

Question 5

My current pump is 1.5 HP single speed — is the 3 HP variable speed really necessary?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and this is the most misunderstood part of variable speed pump sizing. A 1.5 HP single speed runs at full power every time it turns on — that is all it knows. Variable speed pumps deliver their efficiency and longevity at low to medium speeds, not at maximum. If you match horsepower exactly, the variable speed pump ends up running near full capacity constantly, which defeats the purpose and shortens its life — the same way a CPU running at 100% all day generates heat and loses efficiency. Going up to 3 HP gives you the headroom to dial it down to 50–70% and run it longer at a fraction of the energy. That is where the real savings are. The 1.5 HP to 3 HP jump is also the most common variable speed tier — the 2 HP market is thin.

Question 6

Is this DOE compliant? My county requires it for permit.

Accepted Answer

Yes — WEF 7.1, fully DOE compliant. Legal for new installations and replacements in California, Arizona, and every other state with energy efficiency mandates. If your permit requires a DOE-compliant variable speed pump, this qualifies.

Question 7

Is the 1-year warranty from Pentair or from AquaForce?

Accepted Answer

It is an AquaForce warranty — not a Pentair manufacturer warranty. The 1-year coverage applies to the bearings and shaft seals we installed during the renewal process. If either fails within 1 year under normal pool operation, contact us and we will make it right. Pentair does not provide a warranty on renewed or refurbished units sold through third parties.

Question 8

What does "Renewed" mean?

Accepted Answer

Renewed means the pump was fully disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt before it ships to you. Worn bearings, shaft seals, and gaskets are replaced with new parts — not cleaned and reused. The drive board and motor electronics are tested on professional diagnostic equipment to confirm correct operation. The rebuilt pump then runs on the bench until it meets factory performance specs. It is not a quick wipe-down and relist — every unit goes through the same process.
